Full description of the position

Structural Materials is looking to add a fresh face to its sales team. Applicants should have at minimum a two-year degree in business, management, construction, or relatable field of study. A strong work history in sales and/or construction will be acceptable in place of formal education. Applicants should hold themselves to a professional standard as well as be self-motivated. People skills are mandatory as they will be developing new relationships as well as continue to grow existing ones. Job

Responsibilities

:

• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities and customer relationships.
• Maintain and nurture existing customer relationships.
• Potential for providing support to inside and outside sales efforts by performing material take-offs from customer blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions.
• Identify the best choice materials for projects.
• Perform price estimates, close sales, and process orders.
• Help manage the flow of materials to jobsites while coordinating with team.
• Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Continually updates technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
• Train alongside our current staff and be coached for excellence in your position.
• Other tasks as assigned by management. Job

Requirements

:

• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and equipment preferred but not required
• Proficiency in using cost estimating software and tools preferred but not required
• Seeking a degree in construction management, Engineering or related field preferred but not required
• Ability to read a blueprint (preferred)
• Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be able work 4-6 Saturdays per year during busy season (spring-fall).
• Must be able to work overtime during busy season (spring-fall)
