Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers in a grocery store environment. You will assist with product demonstrations, manage cash handling, and ensure that the store is well-stocked and organized. The ideal candidate will have experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and a passion for helping customers find the products they need.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products throughout the store.
• Operate the cash register efficiently, handling cash transactions and ensuring accurate cash handling practices.
• Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote new items.
• Maintain an organized and stocked sales floor, ensuring that shelves are filled and displays are appealing.
• Upsell products by suggesting complementary items to enhance the customer's shopping experience.
• Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
• Answer customer inquiries over the phone with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service excellence.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience in product demos or sales techniques is a plus.
• Must be able to lift stock items as needed and stand for extended periods during shifts.
