Full description of the position

Bomgaars is seeking a motivated, customer service oriented individual who likes working outside to fill a Sales Associate position in the Plants/Nursery department. Position requires flexibility in shifts for watering sessions - days, evenings, and weekends. Position is needed from mid March/early April through June/July.

Qualifications

:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Agriculture background
• Product knowledge - plants, shrubs, vegetables
• Willing to work outside for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50+ lbs. on a regular basis
• Committed to excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction
• Must be available to work flexible schedules - days, evenings, weekends (shift premium paid for working weekends)

Responsibilities

:

• Freight handling/Merchandising/Signage with plant information
• Unload flower racks/Maintain the nursery area (varying weather conditions)
• Basic gardening tasks (watering, weeding, fertilizing, and repotting as needed)
• Stocking with new plants/rotating inventory/checking for damaged or unhealthy plants
• Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately (cash, correct change, credit/debit cards, and checks)
• Assisting customers with product selection and load outs
• Handling phone calls
