Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions in a retail environment, particularly within a grocery store setting. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle cash and operate a POS system effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
• Accurately process sales transactions using the cash register and POS system.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions securely and efficiently.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and store policies to assist customers effectively.
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional manner.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
• Supervise junior staff members when required, providing guidance on best practices.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or as a cashier is preferred.
• Strong understanding of retail math for accurate transaction processing.
• Proficient in operating cash registers and POS systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers.
