Full description of the position

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a positive and enjoyable work atmosphere by behaving and communication in a professional manner with co-workers, customers and supervision
  • Prepare quotes, including development of narrative descriptions, concept drawings and cost data.
  • Answer incoming customer sales calls.
  • Respond to incoming customer email inquiries, request for quotes.
  • Evaluate and respond to incoming customer special terms and conditions requests.
  • Perform sales follow up of quotes to secure equipment orders as well as document and track sales progress.
  • Maintain updates of pricing/specification sheets and standard quotes and other sales and marketing literature and materials.
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of marketing newsletters and other sales and marketing materials
  • Process customer purchase orders and prepare purchase order verifications.
  • Assist with taking equipment photos and maintaining photo files directory and preparing slide presentations for special projects.
  • Periodically conduct sales training for reps and distributors, including preparation of training materials.
  • Database maintenance, includes reviewing and updating distributor/customer /rep profiles based on information gathered from calls and correspondence received.
  • Assist with planning, preparation and participation at trade shows and other off site sales functions as directed.
  • Perform routine site visits with representatives and distributors.
  • Consistently perform sales and relationship management activities with current customers, representatives and distributors that lead to strong company sales volume, including, but not limited to: successfully obtaining site visits and direct calls with our manufacturing representatives; fostering a positive inter-related relationship between the company, manufacturing representatives and distributors; promoting distributors with manufacturing representatives.
  • Interact with prospects in the most efficient and effective manner which will result in securing profitable orders for welding systems.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with manufacturing representatives, local distributors and customers.
  • Prioritize activities, develop technical specifications and formulate strategies based on site visits and/or communications with management, reps, dealers and/or customers to form the approach on what and how to quote on specific projects.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing rep and company management to develop strategies for best addressing the end user's application and securing orders to ensure a focused approach is taken and follow up is directed along the lines established by the agreed upon strategy.
  • Help develop and implement ideas for better utilizing department and company resources towards the company's goal of increasing volume and profits.
  • Interact with project engineers to support transition of orders into successful projects.
  • Focus communication throughout all departments in a manner that assists in successful project flow and management.
  • Perform duties as needed and as directed by Applications Engineering supervision. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Mechanical, Facility, Electrical or Welding Engineering Degree MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be computer-proficient.
  • Must be willing to travel locally and nationally, some international travel may also be required.
  • Must have a creative and flexible approach to problem-solving
  • Must be trainable, willing to learn new skills and be willing to cross-train to different areas.
  • Must be interested in a long-term career and following a career path. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a four-year university.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact with employees, customers, distributors and representatives at all levels within any organization.
  • Equipment Installation
  • Industrial Manufacturing Experience
  • Cost Estimating and Quotation Experience
  • Excellent professional / technical writing skills.
  • Strong background and experience with Applications Engineering
  • Experience within any of the following areas: welding, design, cost-estimating, facilities management, capital acquisitions.
  • Excellent marketing, sales and customer service experience.
  • Strong computer proficiency with experience working with software-based engineering systems.
  • Strong proficiency with ProEngineer (Pro/E) or CREO software. Classification: Salaried (Exempt from Overtime) Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM CST. JOB TYPE: Full Time PAY: $55,000 - $80,000 Job Type: Full-time Pay: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
