Director of Business Development & Sales Location: San Antonio, TX | Full-Time | Hybrid On-Site
Position Summary
The Director of Business Development & Sales is a dynamic leadership role responsible for driving revenue across multiple channels, including private dining, catering, events, group bookings, programming and strategic partnerships. This individual will shape and implement revenue-generating strategies, manage client relationships, secure key city-wide event business, direct intergroup programing and support cross-functional marketing and brand development efforts. As a key member of the leadership team, this person will serve as a growth architect --bringing strategic vision and tactical execution to both inside and outside sales. The ideal candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, demonstrate a passion for hospitality, and excel at leading initiatives that elevate visibility and profitability across restaurant, catering, and experiential dining channels. Note: This role will evolve with the development of the business. Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Strategy
- Develop and execute annual sales plans aligned with revenue targets across dine-in, private dining, catering, off-site events, and full buyouts.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships with downtown hotels, concierges, event planners, corporations, and community organizations.
- Target and secure high-value event business tied to statewide activations (e.g., Fiesta, River Parades, Spurs, F1, Music Festivals, conventions, conferences, etc). Event Sales & Execution
- Lead the full event sales cycle: client acquisition, site tours, proposals, contracting, planning, on-site coordination, and post-event engagement.
- Collaborate with culinary, beverage, and operations teams to design and execute seamless guest experiences across all touchpoints.
- Manage and oversee on-site/off-site catering logistics including staffing, setup, execution, breakdown, and post-event review. Marketing & Brand Activation
- Partner with marketing/PR teams to activate programming that drives foot traffic and increases visibility--seasonal campaigns, chef-driven events, live music/art installations, and collaborations.
- Conceptualize and implement creative activations aligned with brand identity and customer demographic.
- Represent the brand at industry events, networking functions, tastings, and community initiatives. Sales Systems & Reporting
- Develop internal sales systems, lead management workflows, and event processes using CRM and industry-standard tools.
- Monitor KPIs across sales funnel, forecasting, close rates, and event profitability.
- Ensure compliance with billing accuracy, contracts, deposits, and financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5-7+ years of hospitality sales, business development, or event experience--preferably within multi-unit restaurants, upscale catering, hotels, or experiential concepts.
- Proven ability to develop and close six-figure sales pipelines and achieve revenue targets.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, executive presence, and the ability to build trust with high-value clients and partners.
- Experience working with CRM tools (Tripleseat, SevenRooms, Toast CRM, Salesforce, etc.).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be available evenings and weekends for key events, client meetings, and activations.

- Base Salary: $80,000-$95,000 (based on experience and scope)
- Bonus: Performance-based annual bonus + commission structure
