We are a growing, tax firm in Woodbridge, CT seeking motivated seasonal tax preparers for the upcoming tax season. This position follows an hybrid compensation model , offering a guaranteed hourly base plus commission on self-sourced clients. This role is ideal for tax professionals who want stable pay , clear expectations , and the ability to earn more by bringing in their own clients , including higher-fee LLC and business returns.

Compensation

• $25/hour (W-2, seasonal)
• 10% -20% commission on self-sourced clients
• Weekly hourly pay
• Commission paid after return is filed and payment is collected
• No earnings cap Office-assigned / owner-provided clients are paid hourly only and do not qualify for commission. Job

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual tax returns (W-2, dependents, credits, deductions)
• Prepare basic business tax returns (Schedule C, LLCs)
• Work assigned office clients during ramp-up period
• Source and service your own tax clients (strongly encouraged)
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding documentation and filing
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality on all returns
• Meet weekly production and performance expectations
• Follow internal quality control and compliance standards Commission Structure (Self-Sourced Clients Only)
• 1 -15 clients: 10% commission
• 16 -25 clients: 12% commission
• 26 -35 clients: 15% commission
• 36+ clients: 20% commission (maximum) Weekly Expectations
• Sales quota applies only to self-sourced clients
• Office clients are provided during initial ramp-up
• After office clients are completed, scheduled hours are based on workload and performance
• Failure to meet expectations may result in reduced scheduled hours
• Hourly rate is never reduced

Qualifications

• Prior tax preparation experience preferred
• Active PTIN preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in-office in Woodbridge, CT during tax season
