Boerne Epicure Gourmet Market is a well-established market and deli located on Main Street in downtown Boerne. The store offers a unique assortment of culinary products as well as sandwiches, salads and desserts in our deli area. We are currently seeking a full-time Sales Associate to join our team. The position is responsible for selling merchandise, totaling bills and accepting payment. Available to start work at 8:45AM to 5:15PM, Monday - Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer experience by welcoming customers in a friendly and professional manner, determining customers' needs, answering customers' questions and recommending products that will meet their needs.
• Contribute to the achievement of sales goals as established by management.
• Maintain product knowledge; as well as knowledge of current sales, promotions, and policies regarding payment, returns and exchanges.
• Set up displays and keep sales floor stock levels as directed and within the store's visual standards.
• Process point of sale transactions accurately and efficiently to ensure correct information is gathered for sales pricing, inventory management and client contact information.
• Comply with inventory control policies and procedures, including reporting discrepancies & damages to management and participating in inventory counts.
• Adhere to loss prevention procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent and minimize theft, and reduce shortages and fraud.
• Bag, package or wrap gifts.
• Maintain a cooperative and professional attitude at all times.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Formal or informal education or training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred, but not required.
• Current Food Handlers Certification Required
• Available to start work at 8:45AM to 5:15PM, Monday - Saturday. Seasonal operating hours may require a change in hours or days scheduled.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services.
• Basic knowledge of personal computer and ability to use point of sale software.
• Skilled at active listening.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, coworkers or supervisors.
• Ability to perform all physical requirements of the job with or without accommodation.
