Overview

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service, assisting shoppers with product selections, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail experience, and a passion for helping customers find what they need. Bilingual abilities and previous experience with POS systems or supervising are a plus. This position offers an opportunity to develop sales skills, gain retail industry knowledge, and contribute to a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store
• Operate POS systems for transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Upsell products and promote store promotions to increase sales
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and organize stock on shelves
• Restock merchandise and ensure the sales floor is clean and organized
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
• Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves and conducting stock counts
• Support supervisory staff with training new team members when needed
• Follow proper phone etiquette when handling customer calls or inquiries

Qualifications

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic retail math skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse customers
• Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a broader customer base
• Experience with merchandising, product demos, upselling, and stock management is a plus
• Supervising experience is beneficial but not required
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
