Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager/Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role combines leadership responsibilities with direct customer engagement, ensuring smooth store operations and exceptional service. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, sales expertise, and excellent communication abilities. Multilingual or bilingual skills are highly valued to serve a diverse customer base effectively. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including supervising staff and ensuring adherence to company policies
- Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and development initiatives
- Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation and availability
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide exceptional customer service to foster loyalty
- Manage sales transactions using POS systems, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Support purchasing decisions by monitoring inventory levels and assisting with ordering processes
- Coordinate employee scheduling, payroll processing, and maintaining accurate records of employee hours
- Conduct interviews and participate in recruiting efforts to build a strong team
- Assist in marketing efforts to promote store events and sales campaigns
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, store policies, and health regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant management roles with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong sales background with expertise in retail math, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Proficiency in POS systems, inventory control software, bookkeeping, and basic administrative tasks
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management, training & development, and supervising staff
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and perform cashiering duties efficiently
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively within shift schedules
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, marketing strategies, and store presentation standards
- Strong interpersonal skills including phone etiquette and customer service excellence
- Experience with budgeting, payroll processing, purchasing, inventory management, and retail operations preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in management or retail is advantageous Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 35.0 per week
