Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. This role is vital in providing exceptional service to our customers, managing transactions efficiently, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be comfortable handling cash, and have a passion for retail sales. Bilingual abilities and previous supervisory experience are a plus, but not required. This position offers an engaging environment where teamwork and customer satisfaction are prioritized.

Duties

• Operate POS systems accurately to process customer transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
• Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries or concerns
• Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions or product demos to enhance sales
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
• Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits
• Manage inventory levels through stock replenishment and merchandising activities
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Assist with supervising team members when necessary, supporting store operations during peak hours
• Uphold store policies regarding phone etiquette and overall professionalism during interactions Skills
• Proficiency with POS systems and basic math for accurate cashiering and retail math calculations
• Strong communication skills, including clear phone etiquette and active listening
• Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a customer-first approach
• Experience in merchandising, stocking, and retail sales environments such as grocery stores or general retail stores
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively
• Supervising experience is a plus for candidates interested in leadership roles within the team
