About the Role
We're seeking a Technical Product Support Specialist to join our in-office team. This role supports both our engineering and sales departments by managing customer-facing technical tasks. It's ideal for someone who thrives in a structured office environment, is technically minded, highly organized, and comfortable juggling multiple tasks while using digital tools. Who This Role is For
- You've worked in technical customer support, project coordination, or technical sales support -- ideally for a product company (lighting, construction, electrical, or related).
- You're comfortable in an office, working with documents, layouts, product specs, and internal tools.
- You're skilled in using spreadsheets, support ticketing systems, project management tools, and documentation software to track and communicate technical information.
- Bonus if you've worked with lighting, controls, or low-voltage systems.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Support:
- Address technical and application inquiries from sales representatives, customer service teams, and customers.
- Provide training and troubleshooting guidance for IoT lighting control systems.
- Recommend project-specific lighting applications and solutions.
- Help internal team to design accurate photometric layouts. IoT Lighting Control Systems:
- Develop control Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on customer specifications and budget constraints.
- Use or learn tools like Bluebeam to interpret and mark up control layouts
- Coordinate and gather all necessary materials to support pre-commissioning and system preparation activities -- all from the office.
- Provide remote technical support to customers and field teams; minimal domestic travel may be required in special cases. Product Support:
- Ensure compliance with various certification bodies and manage documentation accordingly
- Assist the Marketing and Art department with reviewing technical information for various marketing material and specification documents Production Team Support:
- Evaluate and verify Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Develop detailed wiring diagrams and work instructions.
- Provide expertise in assessing mechanical and electrical components. Other
Responsibilities
:
- Support customer claims and returns (RGAs), such as troubleshooting and technical support
- Help assist with Product Management duties
- Perform other technical and product-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong technical aptitude, with a self-motivated and goal-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in technical software and computer applications.
- Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the lighting industry or a technical role.
- High School Diploma or GED required; college degree or trade school certification in a technical field preferred. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
