Repair Technician (Medical Lighting) Location: Chatsworth, CA Pay Rate: $25 - $30 per hour (based on experience) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Position Type: Full-Time | Onsite

About the Role

We are seeking a Repair Technician to join our team in Chatsworth, CA. This position requires a customer-oriented professional with strong technical skills to troubleshoot issues over the phone and perform hands-on repairs on our line of medical lighting equipment. You'll be responsible for evaluating, repairing, and documenting returned products -- including both warranty and non-warranty items -- while maintaining excellent communication with customers and ensuring all repairs meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and process returned medical lighting equipment.
• Troubleshoot customer issues via phone and email to determine necessary repairs.
• Manage the RMA database throughout the repair process -- from intake to shipment.
• Prepare RMA forms and communicate with customers for repair approvals.
• Create sales orders for approved work and coordinate billing with Customer Service.
• Follow up with customers to ensure timely part returns and replacements.
• Report any incidents or potential product safety issues immediately to QA/RA leadership.
• Maintain accurate repair records to support continuous improvement.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures.
• Suggest and implement improvements to repair and quality processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in product repair, technical support, or related fields (medical device experience a plus).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to guide customers through phone diagnostics.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting repair documents and technical manuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple tasks.
• Computer literate and familiar with database tracking systems.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
