TAP Plastics is the leading retailer of plastics and plastic related products in the industry. We are currently hiring for a part-time Retail Sales Associate/Saw Operator to join our team in El Cerrito The ideal candidate should have a passion for customer service, and sales with a strong emphasis on delivering an exceptional shopping experience. This role also provides an opportunity to work in the shop area, cutting sheet plastics to size and shape.

Duties

:

• Greet and assist customers with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Provide detailed product information and personalized recommendations.
• Accurately process sales transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Maintain a clean, organized sales floor and assist with inventory counts.
• Restock merchandise and uphold visual presentation standards.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Cut, rout, drill and polish sheet plastic to customer specifications.
• Construct displays, boxes, and similar items out of plastic.
• Operate and maintain table saws, band saws, and shop machinery. Skills:
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients.
• At least one year of prior retail sales experience is required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills, including proficiency in using a tape measure.
• Effective organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain visually appealing displays.
• Table saw experience required. Carpentry skills preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to read diagrams/schematics for hole placement and sizes.
• Requires mobility to operate shop tools and ability to move materials weighing up to 75lbs. on occasion. Hours: 28 hours per week - Monday through Saturday between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Closed on Sundays and many holidays! Pay: $20.00 per hour to start with .50 cent increase upon completing training.
