Development & Member Associate About Mote Marine Laboratory Mote Marine Laboratory, located in Sarasota, Florida, was founded in 1955 as an independent marine research institution and has since become a distinguished and integrated research enterprise with a focus on education, public outreach, and public policy programs. Position

Overview

The Development & Member Associate at Mote Marine Laboratory will be responsible for providing support services to the development and membership functions. He/She will assist with a wide range of tasks including donor stewardship activities, annual fund support, gift and membership data support. The Associate reports to the Chief Development Officer, working closely with the Director of Data and Membership Officer, and works independently and as part of the Development Team. The Associate will:

• Assist with the implementation of the annual fund and membership stewardship plan including digital and voice outreach and event coordination and attendance
• Provide extensive support to data integrity including gift entry, donor acknowledgement, data reconciliation and quality control
• Assist with a variety of reporting using Salesforce, ticketing database and spreadsheets
• Ensure accurate and timely records are created and maintained
• Draft and coordinate correspondence to donors, including gift agreements, letters, email updates and reports
• Enhance the culture of philanthropy at Mote Marine Laboratory.
• Assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements

• The Associate is an energetic, goal-driven, customer service-oriented team member.
• The successful candidate should possess a broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising, moves management and the ability to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle.
• Must demonstrate strong listening skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and be literate in standard office software
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
