Regional Packaging Sales Representative Location: Richmond, VA

Compensation

: $90,000 - $140,000 base salary (depending on experience) + unlimited commission potential Total earnings for top performers: $150,000 - $200,000+

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned sales professional to oversee and grow business in the Richmond area. This position is ideal for individuals with a proven track record in packaging sales who excel in a field-based role with a high level of autonomy. You will manage existing accounts while also identifying and securing new business opportunities within various manufacturing sectors, supported by a dedicated inside sales team and management that knows when to provide guidance and when to let you lead. You will be required to travel as needed (approximately 50% of the time) and operate independently, treating your territory as if it were your own business. Responsibilities

• Manage a sales territory encompassing Richmond and surrounding areas
• Identify and secure new business within the packaging industry
• Sell a wide range of packaging products, emphasizing custom and specialty solutions
• Oversee the entire sales process from prospecting to post-sale support
• Maintain accurate records in CRM systems to track sales activity and pipeline
• Provide regular updates to management regarding sales metrics, travel schedules, and key opportunities
• Coordinate customer visits, plant tours, and meetings with support from internal sales and customer service teams
• Collaborate with the VP of Sales to develop and implement strategies for revenue growth

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant industry experience will be considered
• Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience, with at least 2 years in packaging, medical device, or related sectors
• Demonstrated success in managing large territories and generating business at distributor and end-user levels
• Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities
• Proficiency in CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Comfortable with frequent travel throughout the Richmond area
