J Suburban Lawn and Garden started in 1950 by the founder as a neighborhood lawn mowing business. In the seventy years since, Suburban has grown into a multi-faceted retail and wholesale organization dedicated to the principles of growing superior products, providing excellent service and delivering great value to its customers. The Assistant Point of Sale Department Manager position at our state-of-the- art garden center in Kansas City, MO is a role which requires strong leadership skills as well as being hands-on in the day to day operations. The Assistant POS manager reports directly to the POS manager, and works with the store's team of department managers to provide product flow, knowledge, organization and customer service. This position requires attention to detail to assess needs for the department. Good communication skills are important as they will be used to direct employees clearly and concisely. Developing a sense of urgency and ownership within the department is critical with an emphasis on maintaining a clean, and safe working environment.

Requirements

:

• Handle cash register operations, including transactions and cash management.
• Communicate effectively with staff to promote teamwork and high performance.
• As a key holder, execute store operations during scheduled shifts including store opening and closing duties, and run bank deposit as needed.
• Coordinate with POS manager to oversee daily department operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of employees through effective training.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform all duties of the POS manager in cases of absence or emergencies. Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour Work Location: In person
