Overview

We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and relationship-driven Commercial Account Executive to help expand our presence throughout New Mexico. This is not an order-taking position. We're looking for someone who enjoys opening new doors, developing long-term customer relationships, and becoming a trusted advisor to commercial clients. If you're driven by building a book of business and creating opportunities rather than simply responding to inbound requests, you'll thrive in this role. You'll work closely with our engineering, estimating, and operations teams to develop customized low-voltage solutions for commercial businesses, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, municipalities, industrial clients, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new commercial business opportunities throughout New Mexico.
• Build relationships with general contractors, business owners, property managers, municipalities, school districts, healthcare organizations, and government agencies.
• Conduct customer meetings, job walks, and discovery sessions.
• Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, prospecting, and industry events.
• Collaborate with engineering and estimating teams to prepare accurate, professional proposals.
• Present solutions and negotiate project opportunities.
• Follow up on proposals and maintain an active sales pipeline.
• Maintain accurate customer records and sales activities using Jobber CRM.
• Work closely with operations to ensure successful project execution and outstanding customer satisfaction.
• Represent ABQ Cable with professionalism, honesty, and integrity in every customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Previous B2B sales or business development experience required.
• Experience in telecommunications, low voltage, construction, electrical, security integration, or technology sales is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Comfortable prospecting and developing new customer relationships.
• Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to understand construction drawings or technical documentation is a plus.
