Full description of the position

Johnson's Nursery is predominantly a wholesale grower, and as such, a wholesale salesperson is an integral part of the operation. Working directly with new and existing customers, you will be the go-to person for all inquiries a customer might have, including quotes, orders, plant recommendations, and expert advice on Johnson's Nursery plants. The successful candidate will have a history of sales experience and a demonstrated ability to generate sales from new leads and existing customers. Position Details

• Full-time, salary.
• 45 hours per week during the season (April-October); 7:30am 5:00pm.
• 40 hours per week off-season (November-March).
• Trade off Saturday mornings with other salespeople from April through June.

Job Description

• Prepare quotes and orders for clients in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist wholesale customers with landscape plant selections.
• A wholesale salesperson will coordinate the pickup or shipment of orders.
• Solicit new clients, grow existing clients, and manage client relationships.
• Market Johnson's Nursery products and services to new and existing wholesale clients in-person or online.
• Travel approx. ~10% of the time, such as but not limited to, visiting clients and/or attending tradeshows.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in the green industry with some sales experience.
• Minimum 3+ years of direct horticulture experience in a green industry field i.e horticulture, design, or forestry.
• A wholesale salesperson will have a successful history of hitting sales goals.
• Capability to upsell inventory plant material, market our wide range of products and services, and offer helpful suggestions and substitutions.
• Ability to work outdoors; ability to lift 30 pounds safely.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Team player attitude.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation).
• Adept with computers, mobile devices, and email.
• Ability to work within JNI inventory systems, IT infrastructure, and website systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
