Johnson's Nursery is predominantly a wholesale grower, and as such, a wholesale salesperson assistant will work closely with both inside sales people and outside salespeople. This is an entry level position. The successful candidate will be able to multi-task, and move quickly and efficiently. Position Details

• 45 hours per week during the season (April-October); 7:30am 5:00pm.
• 40 hours per week off-season (November-March).
• Trade off Saturday mornings with other salespeople from April through June.
• Hourly options can be accommodated.

Job Description

• As an assistant to salespeople, you will be expected to: take clients out to tag plant material, take pictures of plant material for clients, running errands to facilitate sales events.
• Create simple plant quotes.
• Allocate plant material to orders ready to ship.
• Schedule orders for pickup when requested by contractors.
• Notify or follow up with contractors when plant material is ready for pick up.
• Assist with walk-in customers and take payment.
• Travel approx. ~10% of the time, such as but not limited to, visiting clients and/or attending tradeshows.

Qualifications

• Basic plant knowledge and ID would be preferred, but is not limited to it.
• Ability to work outdoors; ability to lift 30 pounds safely.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail are a must.
• Team player attitude.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation).
• Adept with computers, mobile devices, and email.
• Ability to work within JNI inventory systems, IT infrastructure, and website systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
