Full description of the position

Position Summary

The Business Development Liaison is a sales-driven role responsible for generating referral growth and expanding awareness of Navian Hawaii's services through targeted outreach, sales, business development, relationship management and community outreach. Serving as the primary sales and marketing representative for assigned service areas, this position is accountable for building and sustaining high-value referral partnerships that drive volume across hospice, palliative care, pediatric care and other organizational service lines. This role actively identifies new referral opportunities, conducts consistent field-based sales calls, builds relationships with referral sources and healthcare professionals, promotes organizational services through ongoing outreach and education, and identifies opportunities to generate new referrals. Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing

  • Build, manage and prioritize a targeted account list to strengthen relationships with key referral sources and conduct consistent outreach to strengthen partnerships and generate new referrals
  • Maintain a strong, visible presence within the healthcare community, serving as a trusted resource to physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, case managers, discharge planners, and other healthcare professionals
  • Execute consistent, high-impact outreach activities, including in-person visits, sales calls, in-service presentations, networking activities, grand rounds, industry conferences/fairs and follow-ups with contacts
  • Identify, cultivate and convert new referral sources through ongoing prospecting and relationship management while maintaining a proactive and strong pipeline of referral opportunities
  • Promote awareness of Navian's services (hospice, palliative care, pediatric care, primary care) through ongoing outreach, education and community engagement to drive referral growth
  • Meet or exceed established performance targets set by leadership Relationship Management & Customer Service
  • Serve as a knowledgeable, trusted resource to referral partners regarding organizational services, eligibility criteria, referral processes, and care options
  • Ensure referral partners receive timely communication and responsive support resulting in the delivery of a positive and seamless referral experience
  • Maintain consistent, proactive communication with referral sources to address concerns, strengthen engagement, and reinforce long-term referral relationships. relationships
  • Collaborate closely with admissions, intake and clinical operations teams to support referral conversion and patient access to care Reporting & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate, detailed records of referral-source interactions in the CRM, including contacts, meetings, follow-ups, and activity documentation
  • Provide regular activity and results reporting to management, including daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Track referral activity, admissions, and progress toward established goals
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational services, clinical programs, referral criteria, market trends and competitive activity
  • Communicate referral source feedback, market trends, competitive activity and growth opportunities to leadership

Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships and achieve growth-oriented goals

  • Strong business development, networking, and account management skills with a track record of driving referral or revenue growth
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels
  • Strong organizational, planning, time management, and follow-through skills, with demonstrated success managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to research, solve problems, exercise sound judgment, and make independent decisions with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM/referral management platforms, including Trella or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of hospice, palliative care, pediatric care, healthcare referral processes, and community-based healthcare networks preferred
  • Existing relationships within the local healthcare community preferred Experience and Education
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 year of experience in sales, business development, marketing, account management, community outreach, or healthcare-related relationship management
  • Experience in hospice, palliative care, home health, senior living, healthcare services, or related healthcare sale preferred Employment

Working Conditions
  • Indoors in patient homes or Hospice Hawai'i homes, nursing, and acute care facilities; may include outdoors in all types of weather
  • Responsible for transporting marketing materials and other collateral for events or meetings Work Location This position is based in the field, requiring travel to patient homes, facilities, and offices throughout Oahu using a personal motor vehicle Hours
  • Generally, Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm
  • Position may require weekend, night, or holiday availability Salary $74,000-$94,000 Annually In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a monthly performance-based incentive
