Position: Machine Tool Sales Representative Location: Elk Grove Village, IL Salary: $45K$65K per year (DOE) + Commission Working Hours: 8:30 AM 5:00 PM Position

Overview

Our client (A Japanese machinery manufacturer in Grove Village IL) is seeking a motivated Machine Tool Sales Representative to join our team, focusing on the Midwest region. This role offers opportunities for both experienced professionals who can contribute immediately and entry-level candidates with a solid foundation in machine tools and strong motivation to grow in sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and sell machine tools (e.g., horizontal boring mills, large/small lathes, grinding machines)
• Manage existing accounts while developing new customer relationships (99% non-Japanese clients)
• Conduct customer needs assessments and provide tailored product proposals and quotations
• Travel to visit clients (12 times per month, typically one week per trip)
• Report directly to the General Manager

Qualifications

Required

• Basic knowledge of machine tools
• Strong persistence and enthusiasm in customer engagement
• Ability to conduct business in English (Japanese proficiency not mandatory but an advantage) Preferred
• Previous experience in a machine tool manufacturer
• Experience in trading companies handling machine tools
• Sales or distribution experience in horizontal boring mills, lathes, or grinding machines
• Ability to work as an immediate contributor in sales Ideal Candidate Profile

• Comfortable with business travel and face-to-face client engagement
