Full description of the position

Position Summary

: The Account Manager is responsible for shaping a positive perception of JSM's services and ensures that customers' expectations are appropriately aligned with operational capabilities. This position is a customer care role, which provides full-service account management.

Essential Functions

:

  • Liaison between clients, internal departments, agencies, and suppliers for daily processing activities.
  • Coordinate and monitor the daily responsibilities for multiple programs throughout all stages of the manufacturing process. Manage the service provided by all departments while ensuring quality, on-time delivery within budget.
  • Gather and review components of campaign specifications from the client. Communicate and manage the implementation of the requirements with internal and external departments following company processes and procedures.
  • Liable for producing and/or appropriately distributing the necessary documents, instructions, samples, and reporting to all departments in accordance with client requests and requirements. Verify and maintain the accuracy and currency of information within systems.
  • Enter data within internal systems for all required job information: kits, quantities, data requirements, job instructions, material codes, mail and event dates, piece attributes, samples, CAPS information, order of insertion, bill of lading, and other job specific information.
  • Ensure accurate and timely job instructions for print, lettershop, and data processing. Validate that job instructions align with client provided instructions.
  • Enter required data within customer systems.
  • Generate internal and external documents and reports, such as postage requests, freight and commingle reports, production counts, financial saves, quality saves, year to date invoicing, paper usage, and billing.
  • Provide client specific reporting.
  • Examine completed ready to mail and production samples for quality.
  • Review and correct mail dates, in accordance with client requirements, after data processing.
  • Ensure mail statements are available after scheduled mail date and project completed as expected.
  • Responsible for the verification of quality print proofs, laser audits, and package samples to achieve client production approval in accordance with established schedule. Communicate approvals to internal departments and/or suppliers or partners.
  • Accountable for manufactured and supplied materials and associated internal/external order processing, procurement, deficiencies, and reporting.
  • Calculate print counts based on client data and production requirements.
  • Order paper and supplies for internal and external services.
  • Issue Purchase Orders as applicable.
  • Manage workflow with internal departments, outside suppliers, and partners.
  • Prioritize and monitor the delivery order of all components to maintain lettershop production flow and established schedule.
  • Receive and processes bill of lading.
  • Verify that materials comply with equipment specifications.
  • Analyze remaining inventory levels with expected balances.
  • Follow through with client material disposition.
  • Under the direction of Account Executive, manage, renegotiate, and communicate status changes and schedule revisions to client and appropriate internal departments.
  • Inform Account Executive and appropriate departments of revised client requirements and changes in volume or business activity.
  • Assist Account Executive with the implementation and integration of new business from new and existing customers.
  • Under the direction of Account Executive, communicate and negotiate any necessary or desired revisions with client regarding campaign specifications/requirements.
  • Under the direction of Account Executive, review and analyze package formats and scope of campaigns with client, IT, production, and USPS to attain final acceptance.
  • Under the direction of Account Executive, review, investigate, and respond to quality issues and participate in corrective action efforts.
  • Under the direction of Account Executive, make decisions and negotiate results regarding client specific issues/topics while creating and maintaining a win-win situation for both the client and JSM.
  • Participate and/or present in client visits/trips for business purposes. Effectively represent JSM's services to client(s) and prospects.
  • Work towards continuous improvement and expertise in Direct Mail.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor in Marketing or Business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of professional experience in an Account Management position with direct customer contact preferred
