The Inns of Monterey is a unique collection of five destination hotels (Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa, Victorian Inn, Spindrift Inn, Monterey Bay Inn and Wave Street Inn). The Group Sales Manager is primarily responsible for developing and executing group sales to achieve revenue goals; maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining guest satisfaction and shall strive to always provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests. This position offers an Sales Incentive Bonus along with the hourly rate of pay. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Establish client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and/or corporate businesses through direct outside and inside selling to secure business for the hotel to ensure that room night sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded.
• Identify operational problems that impact the effectiveness of overall sales performance and work closely with appropriate Departments on solutions.
• Cultivate collaborative, mutually supportive relationships with and among customers, community, sales office, and hotel staff.
• Create, implement, and monitor long-range sales and marketing strategies to optimize revenue and profitability.
• Develop, achieve and track personal sales goals.
• Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients.
• Maintain client files and update information daily in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
• Follow up with clients regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
• Assist in developing and implementing sales action plans.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• 2 years of experience in a sales setting or related field.
• Overall knowledge of hotel sales and group operations.
• Ability to maximize impact, maintain interest, and establish a rapport with your audience when conveying information.
• QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Knowledge resort/hotel service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Excellent communication, verbal, written, customer service and organizational skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with employees and guests.
• Ability to multi-task, manage interruptions, establish work priorities, handle stress, and effectively function in a fast-paced environment. LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to read, comprehend and provide instructions in English, both written and verbal. COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Office, Word, Excel and Internet applications. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
