DME Solutions Consultant Westside Medical Supply | Rochester, NY Full-Time | Hourly | $19.00 - $24.00 per Hour Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
• 1-2 Saturdays per month, 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM

What You'll Do

Customer Service/Sales

• Welcome and assist walk-in customers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Help patients and caregivers select appropriate medical equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate products and explain features, benefits, and proper use.
• Identify opportunities to recommend complementary products that enhance patient outcomes.
• Build strong relationships through outstanding customer service. Insurance/Documentation
• Answer questions regarding equipment availability, insurance coverage, and reimbursement requirements.
• Verify insurance benefits and collect required documentation.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable healthcare regulations.
• Stay informed on Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and accreditation requirements. Order Processing/Administration
• Enter customer information, orders, and documentation accurately.
• Prepare delivery paperwork, billing documentation, and supporting records.
• Coordinate with Billing, Delivery, Technicians, and Sales teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
• Process payments, co-pays, deductibles, and private-pay transactions.
• Maintain detailed customer account records and notes. Showroom/Operations Support
• Assist with showroom organization, merchandising, and inventory replenishment.
• Participate in inventory counts and inventory management activities.
• Attend department meetings, training sessions, and company events.
• Perform additional duties as assigned. What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME), healthcare intake, insurance verification, medical billing, or healthcare customer service.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance authorization processes, and payer guidelines.
• Experience with Brightree, Nymbl, Housecall Pro, or similar healthcare software platforms. Key Skills

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
