Job Summary

The Territory Manager is responsible for driving significant growth in membership, units, and financial resources in support of the local Scouting program. This role focuses on sustaining and expanding youth and adult membership, ensuring the long-term vitality and growth of Scouting in the designated service area.

Duties and Responsibilities

Work with a volunteer team and other community and business leaders to identify, recruit, train, and guide them to become involved in youth programs. Achieve progress towards goals and objectives including program development, volunteer recruitment and training, fundraising, membership recruitment and retention. Establish connections with school district leaders, as well as other youth- serving organizations, to promote and expand Scouting programs. Engage with local churches, community leaders and other influential people to foster support for the growth of new programs. Partner with staff and volunteers to recruit and train volunteers to support the development of units. Collaborate with unit leaders and other volunteers to create unit program and budget plans to ensure youth retention. Assist local leaders' participation in Council-sponsored fundraising activities, including product sales and annual giving campaigns. Partner with the Program Committee to ensure district-level programs are of high quality, providing a strong foundation for successful onboarding and long-term membership retention. Secure adequate financial support for programs in assigned area. Achieve net income and participation objectives for assigned camps and activities. Recruit leadership for finance campaign efforts to meet the financial needs of the organization. Collaborate with adult volunteers and oversee achievement of training for their respective role. Be a good role model and recognize the importance of working relationships with other professionals and volunteers. Must have strong communication skills and be able to explain the program's goals and objectives to the public. Key Qualities for Success The Territory Manager must be results-oriented with professional characteristics that include integrity, leadership, scheduling, flexibility, team-orientation. The candidate must have great attention to detail, high- energy, optimism, unquestioned professionalism. She/he will be adept at strategically guiding new unit and membership conversations and building community partnerships. Job Competencies Knowledge of: Youth development programs, their benefits, and how they cater to different age groups; potential charter partners (schools, churches, etc.) and their motivations for supporting programs; program planning, budgeting, and membership retention strategies. Skill in: Establishing trusting relationships with partners and building a network of supporters; communicating verbally and in writing to present the value of the program, recruiting and motivating volunteers; resourcefulness to address and overcome challenges. Ability to: Identify underserved communities within the assigned area and understand their needs; work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders; plan and execute membership growth initiatives, manage resources, and track progress towards goals; analyze data to identify trends and target areas for growth; set clear, measurable goals for unit growth and membership retention and develop strategies to achieve them; manage time to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage a busy workload; stay organized and manage multiple projects and relationships simultaneously; be self-motivated with a passion and a commitment to serving youth.

Minimum Qualifications

: Education Level: Bachelor's degree in business administration, education or a related field from an accredited college or university. An associate's degree may be acceptable if the candidate has significant work experience. Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in sales, marketing, relationship management, financial management, or membership development

Compensation

: The Great Falls Council is an equal opportunity employer. In addition to offering a competitive salary between $60,000 and $65,000, the position offers benefits to include major medical, prescription coverage, dental, vision, life-insurance, long-term disability, accidental death, a retirement plan, plus compensation for authorized and approved business- related expenses including mileage reimbursement. We also offer a generous vacation policy and ten holiday observances. Must have a valid driver's license, own a car, and have the ability to travel, including local and regional visits, and work some evenings and weekends. Must be willing to accept and meet the Boy Scout of America's leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law. A Scouting background is helpful but not required. Duties
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed regional sales targets, focusing on B2B (business-to-business) engagements.
  • Build and nurture strong customer relationships through regular client communication, product demonstrations, and tailored solutions.
  • Conduct product demos and technical presentations to healthcare professionals, laboratory managers, or other scientific/medical personnel.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting and negotiation to deal closing, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the process.
  • Utilize CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems to track leads, manage accounts, analyze sales data, and forecast future opportunities.
  • Lead territory management efforts by analyzing market trends, identifying new business opportunities, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on product development feedback, technical support needs, and strategic planning to enhance customer experience.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in outside sales or field sales roles within scientific, medical, or pharmaceutical equipment sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in account management with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Excellent negotiation skills paired with the ability to close deals effectively in enterprise selling environments.
  • Strong technical sales experience with the ability to deliver compelling product demos and explain complex solutions clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems; familiarity with analysis tools is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills to manage multiple client relationships efficiently.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire team collaboration and drive results across territory boundaries.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical or medical device sales regulations and compliance standards is highly desirable.
