Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Bilingual Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role is ideal for individuals who are fluent in both English and another language, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for providing excellent customer service. The Bilingual Sales Associate will play a vital role in engaging customers, demonstrating products, and driving sales in a fast-paced retail environment, including grocery stores and specialty shops.

Duties

• Assist customers by providing knowledgeable product information and conducting product demos to enhance their shopping experience
• Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, cash handling, and cashiering responsibilities
• Upsell products and suggest complementary items to increase sales opportunities
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Conduct inventory checks and assist with stock replenishment to ensure product availability
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Supervise or assist in supervising junior staff or team members when needed
• Apply phone etiquette when handling customer calls and inquiries professionally
• Support store operations through basic retail math calculations for pricing, discounts, and transactions

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and another language (bilingual proficiency) is required
• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
• Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and cash handling procedures
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demonstrations
• Supervising experience is a plus but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued
• Basic math skills for retail math calculations such as discounts and totals
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
