Job Summary

MS Companies is hiring a Senior Sales Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity with a confidential client that manufactures highly engineered vehicle- transport equipment. This role is responsible for generating revenue through the sale of new car-hauling trailers, aftermarket parts, repairs, and related services while developing strong customer relationships through face-to-face meetings, virtual engagement, and industry events. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self-directed sales professional with a successful record of business development, technical solution selling, and complex customer management. This individual will partner across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, APQP, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and After-Sales Service to translate customer requirements into competitive solutions and ensure commitments are delivered. Qualifications

Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered:

  • 10+ years of successful business development and sales experience, preferably involving highly engineered or technically complex products.
  • Proven ability to generate leads, establish new relationships, develop accounts, and close business through a disciplined and methodical sales process.
  • Experience preparing professional proposals and responding to RFQs, including coordination of quotations, cost modeling, technical solutions, and customer value propositions.
  • Demonstrated experience using CRM systems, project-management disciplines, and timed action plans to manage customers and opportunities.
  • Strong business acumen, executive presence, relationship-building ability, systemic thinking, creative problem solving, and results orientation.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically approximately 50%-75%, including overnight travel as business needs require.
  • High school diploma or GED; must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. Preferred Skills &
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Engineering competency or demonstrated technical aptitude in a customer-facing sales environment.
  • Sales or business-development experience involving car-hauling trailers, commercial vehicles, specialty trailers, heavy transportation equipment, or comparable capital equipment.
  • Experience working with fleets, carriers, dealers, service companies, OEMs, or other transportation-industry customers.
  • Working knowledge of quality, cost, delivery, technical specification, warranty, and aftermarket-service expectations within the U.S. market. Day-to-Day
Responsibilities

Key tasks and expectations for the role include:

  • Lead sales, marketing, and customer-management activity for existing and prospective customers across the complete customer and project lifecycle.
  • Develop new business and expand revenue across new trailers, aftermarket parts, repairs, warranty work, and related services.
  • Create and submit professional proposals and lead RFQ responses, detailed quotations, internal cost modeling, technical solution development, and customer value positioning.
  • Serve as a primary customer liaison and drive communication and resolution of open commercial, technical, and contract-delivery issues.
  • Translate customer and market expectations into clear priorities and champion them internally across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, APQP, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and After-Sales Service.
  • Maintain detailed customer strategy, relationship status, sales activity, and next-step plans within the CRM.
  • Support project management for key customer programs through disciplined tracking, follow-up, problem solving, influence, and change management.
  • Create and execute sales and marketing strategies for assigned customers, prospects, territories, and markets while identifying internal improvements that strengthen competitiveness. Physical and Environment

  • Performance-based annual incentive opportunity estimated at up to $41,142-$51,428, based on company EBT and individual performance results.
