• We offer full time employment.
• We are hiring for all three of our locations, Lake Station, LaPorte, and Valparaiso. The qualified applicant will be able to work weekly in our Lake Station, Valparaiso and LaPorte locations as needed. Full time and part time, Saturdays required.

Responsibilities

: - Evaluate and appraise items brought in for pawn or sale - Provide excellent customer service and assist customers in selecting items - Negotiate and finalize pawn or sale transactions - Maintain accurate records of all transactions - Keep the store clean and organized - Assist with inventory management and restocking Experience: - Previous experience with jewelry and/or coins (bullion and numismatics) is a plus! - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills Skills: - Knowledge of jewelry, electronics, and other valuable items - Ability to demonstrate product features and benefits to customers - Proficient in using technology for sales transactions - Upselling skills to maximize sales opportunities

Working Conditions

: Primarily indoors, however employees will be asked to assist customers outside or to retrieve products stored in exterior storage buildings or other areas on occasion. Valparaiso location stores and rents Uhaul trucks and trailers. Physical

Requirements

: Lifting/Carrying - Due to the nature of the pawn industry, the types of products and materials that may be lifted, carried or handled during a work shift varies from day-to-day and week-to-week. On average, a pawn shop employee will handle jewelry, tools, bicycles, and electronics (stereo, televisions, and speakers) on a daily basis. The frequency of these lifts and the weight of the items handled will also vary. We offer competitive pay and a supportive work environment.
