Overview

As a Leasing Agent at Nest Property Solutions, you will be the welcoming face and voice of our company for prospective tenants. You will handle leasing calls, property showings, guide applicants through the leasing process, and help ensure a smooth transition from application to move-in. This role requires a people-first personality, strong organization skills, excellent follow-through, a great telephone presence, and strong communication skills. The right candidate must be comfortable handling difficult situations, tenant concerns, delinquency conversations, and other tough discussions with professionalism and confidence. This person should not shy away from conflict, should be able to remain calm under pressure, and should be able to bounce back quickly from stressful situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to leasing inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms.
• Schedule and conduct property showings for prospective tenants.
• Present available units in a professional, positive, and knowledgeable manner.
• Assist applicants with the rental application process.
• Process applications, including verifying income, employment, and references.
• Communicate application status to applicants and coordinate lease signings.
• Prepare and send lease agreements to approved tenants.
• Manage lease renewals, including tracking upcoming renewals and sending renewal offers to existing tenants.
• Assist with tenant delinquency follow-up, including contacting tenants regarding past-due balances, documenting communication, and coordinating next steps with the property management team.
• Maintain accurate and organized leasing files.
• Collaborate with property management staff to ensure units are rent-ready prior to showings.
• Support marketing efforts, including posting and updating rental listings on various rental platforms.
• Assist with social media marketing, including creating and posting content for available rentals, company updates, and other property management-related marketing.
• Conduct market research, including rental rate comparisons, property data review, and preparation of Comparative Market Analysis reports for owners.
• Uphold compliance with local, state, and federal landlord-tenant and fair housing laws.
• Additional duties as assigned. Skills & Competencies
• Great telephone presence with strong verbal communication skills.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional business letters with proper spelling, grammar, and formatting.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English as needed to perform job duties.
• Professional, organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and operate with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
• Confident handling difficult conversations, tenant concerns, and high-pressure situations.
• Able to remain calm, solution-focused, and resilient after stressful interactions.
• Comfortable using property management software, online listing platforms, Canva, social media platforms, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat preferred.
• Able to use general office equipment, including telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, and key tracking system.
• Able to review market data and prepare organized reports for owners.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Valid Driver's License, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance required.
• Prior leasing, sales, or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with Canva and social media platforms preferred.
• Great telephone presence and strong communication skills required.
• WA State real estate license required within 90 days of employment.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for showings.

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move through properties for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally. Pay: $24.00 per hour
