Full description of the position

SUMMARY Shows and leases apartments to prospective residents and completes associated administrative functions by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.) Interviews prospective residents and records information to ascertain needs and qualifications. Inputs information into computer. Accompanies prospects to model apartments and discusses size and layout of rooms, available facilities, such as swimming pool and saunas, location of shopping centers and freeways, services available, and term of lease. Qualifies prospective residents, verifying applications, lease documents and related paperwork. Completes lease form or agreement and collects rental deposit and application fee. Introduces residents to apartment/property procedures. Promotes positive, proactive resident relations, working to make the living experience, the first and last impression, of the highest quality. Records accurate data on prospective and new residents as required by the Marketing Department. Inspects condition of premises periodically and arranges for necessary maintenance. Demonstrates knowledge of property and apartments. Compiles listings of available rental property. Attends training classes as scheduled. Reports hazardous working conditions to supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Completion of New Hire Training course. Attend Fair Housing Training / sign acknowledgment.
