Overview

We are currently seeking a sales associate (not seasonal or just summer, but longer-term) who is for the birds. Wild Birds Unlimited is the first and largest franchise system of retail stores catering to the backyard nature enthusiast throughout North America. The difference between what we offer and what other retailers offer goes far beyond what we sell. It's who we are. This position could be a PT or FT sales associate and could grow more for the right person.

Qualifications

: Applicants must:

• Be exceptionally reliable
• Be able to lift and carry bags of bird seed weighing 20 pounds (sometimes over 100) and up to a few 50 pound bags on occasion.
• Have a love of nature (particularly birds)
• Have excellent customer service skills
• Be able to work weekends
• Be comfortable working with computers
• Be detail oriented
• Be able to keep busy and find tasks to do when there is downtime
• Briefly describe their knowledge of wildlife, backyard birds or bird feeding on their application Additionally:
• Someone that has experience with business social media
• Some retail experience is desirable, but not mandatory
• Knowledge of local birds is helpful
• Reliability and excellent customer service is critical

Responsibilities

:

• Greeting customers and assisting them with selecting the best products for their needs
• Educating customers about the birds and wildlife in their yards
• Processing sales transactions
• Receiving and unloading inventory shipments and restocking shelves
• Keeping the store clean and organized
• Continuously learning more about the hobby
• Lots of cleaning and organizing tasks
