JOB SUMMARY The Gift Shop Sales Associate is responsible for delivering quality customer service and supporting all aspects of retail operations within the Sacred Circle Art & Gift Shops. Key responsibilities include sales transactions, inventory management, merchandising, store presentation, and promoting authentic Indigenous-made and Indigenous-designed products. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a culturally diverse environment while supporting organizational goals and operational needs across multiple retail locations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service & Sales Deliver exceptional customer service by creating engaging and personalized shopping experiences Identify customer needs, recommend products, and effectively close sales. Educate customers on featured artists, products, and the cultural significance of Indigenous artwork and goods. Accurately process sales transactions, handle cash and electronic payments, and maintain proper cash-handling procedures. Represent UIATF and its mission professionally at all times. Inventory Management Receive, organize, price, stock, and replenish merchandise according to established procedures. Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock replenishment needs to management. Conduct inventory counts and assists with inventory control processes. Maintain accurate inventory records and support product tracking activities. Merchandising & Store Operations Create and maintain attractive merchandise displays that promote featured products and drive sales. Ensure products are well-stocked, organized, and readily available for customers. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment. Perform routine cleaning of shelves, displays, counters, and work areas. Assist in shaping store inventory and product curation initiatives. General

Required Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience Previous retail sales experience required. Experience providing direct customer service in a retail environment. Basic cash handling and point-of-sale experience. Successful completion of a criminal background check. Reliable transportation and ability to travel between assigned work locations. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and special events as needed. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualification Experience working with inventory management and stock control systems. Experience in gift shop, boutique, museum store, gallery, or specialty retail environments. Knowledge of Native American art, culture, and artisan products. Experience with merchandising and visual display presentation. WORK ENVIRONMENT
