Our Fealty platform and Perch docking station deliver persistent, NDAA-compliant aerial security to utilities, energy operators, and public safety organizations across the country. The Opportunity Utilities represent one of Birdstop's highest-priority verticals. Electric utilities, water authorities, and pipeline operators face mounting physical security threats with limited budgets for traditional guard services. Autonomous drone systems are not an experiment in this spacethey are a procurement reality. We need someone who understands this market from the inside and can close. This is a dedicated vertical AE role. You will own the full sales cycle for utility and energy infrastructure accountsfrom targeted outbound to signed contracts. You will work closely with a cross-functional team spanning technical, marketing, and operations to build the credibility and urgency that moves enterprise deals. This position reports to the Director of Sales. Who We're Looking For We want someone already in the gamecurrently selling autonomous drones or adjacent unmanned systems into utilities, energy, or critical infrastructure. You know the procurement cycle, you know the objections, and you know how to build a business case that moves a capital budget committee. You have existing relationships with physical security or operations leadership at utilities or energy companies, and you understand NDAA compliance implications. You move fastcustomer response time is measured in minutes and hours, not days.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in enterprise sales at a drone, unmanned systems, or physical security technology companyselling into utilities, energy, or critical infrastructure.
- Existing relationships with physical security or operations leadership at electric utilities, IOUs, or RTOs preferred.
- Familiarity with utility procurement processes, capital budget cycles, and physical security buyer personas.
- Experience with NDAA-compliant hardware or security technology preferred.
- Experience with multi-year enterprise subscription contracts and complex deal structures.
- Familiarity with FAA Part 107 operations or critical infrastructure airspace requirements a plus.
- Strong written communication; ability to produce proposals, briefs, and correspondence quickly without hand-holding.
- Demonstrated track record of outbound-driven new logo acquisition.
- Proven ability to manage multiple active opportunities and meet rapid timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Own new logo acquisition across electric utilities, water/wastewater authorities, pipeline operators, and energy infrastructure owners.
- Run disciplined outbound into Director/VP-level physical security, operations, and infrastructure leadership.
- Build and advance a pipeline from first contact through contract close; achieve or exceed quota.
- Develop and deliver proposals, ROI models, and presentations tailored to utility procurement requirements.
- Negotiate enterprise contracts and navigate public utility procurement processes.
- Translate customer and regulatory requirements into internal work items; validate feasibility with engineering and compliance.
- Maintain high-frequency communication with prospects, customers, and regulatory contacts.
- Contribute to vertical-specific sales assets: case studies, site security briefs, and industry event strategy.
- Report on pipeline health, activity, and forecast with rigor and consistency. What We Offer
