Job Summary

We're hiring on behalf of a fast-growing AI startup in the finance space looking for a Business Development Representative with 01 year of experience to help build their outbound sales motion from the ground up. This is a founding BDR role you won't be handed a playbook, you'll be writing it. If you're early in your career, hungry to grind, and want a clear path into closing or leadership, this is the role for you. What You'll Be Doing

• Cold calling, sending outbound emails, and experimenting with messaging to book meetings with CFOs, controllers, and finance leaders
• Building the outbound playbook from scratch testing channels and approaches, then systematizing what works for the team behind you
• Researching and prioritizing target accounts, building targeting logic (not just lists)
• Partnering closely with Account Executives to convert outreach into qualified pipeline
• Feeding market intel objections, competitors, pain points back into the business to shape positioning and strategy Key

Requirements

• 01 year of experience in sales, business development, recruiting, or other outbound-heavy roles in fast-paced environments (startups, IB/PE, D2D sales) new grads and career pivoters welcome
• Background in a high-intensity environment: competitive athletics, IB/PE, high-growth startups, consulting clubs, D2D sales, or similar signals grit and coachability
• High-agency mindset: comfortable operating without a defined playbook and building from first principles
• Strong communicator writes clearly, handles pushback, and thinks on their feet
• Fully in-person in NYC (Flatiron), 5 days a week non-negotiable
