Overview

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, experience with retail sales, and the ability to effectively promote products through demos and upselling. This role involves engaging with customers, maintaining merchandising standards, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse clientele. The Sales Associate plays a vital role in driving sales and supporting store operations in a fast-paced environment such as a grocery store or specialty retail location.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service
• Assist customers with product inquiries and demonstrate product features through demos
• Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, cash handling, and receipts
• Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending suitable items
• Maintain attractive merchandise displays and ensure proper stocking of shelves
• Conduct merchandising activities to promote featured products and seasonal items
• Manage stock levels, organize inventory, and assist with stocking shelves as needed
• Use phone etiquette to answer customer questions or direct calls appropriately
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the sales floor to enhance shopping experience
• Support cashiering duties including basic math calculations for transactions Experience
• Previous retail sales experience is preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and retail math concepts
• Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities
• Experience with product demos, upselling techniques, and merchandising strategies
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable to communicate effectively with a diverse customer base
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent phone etiquette are essential for success in this role Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
