Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques related to glasses and optical equipment. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment where precision and quality assurance are paramount. The Optical Lab Technician will be responsible for the fabrication and repair of optical devices, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including lathes, to fabricate and repair optical lenses and devices.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to understand patient needs and provide appropriate optical solutions.
• Manage laboratory procedures effectively, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
• Utilize knowledge of physiology to assist in the selection of appropriate optical products for patients.
• Provide sales support by educating customers on product features and benefits.
• Stay updated on advancements in optical technology and laboratory techniques.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in laboratory management or a similar role within the optical or ophthalmology field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment used in optical fabrication.
• Familiarity with quality assurance processes related to optical products.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with colleagues and clients.
