Business Development Representative Tennessee Territory Transit & Level ClinicTerritory: Middle Tennessee through West Tennessee Position Type: Full-Time | Field-Based Travel: Frequent regional travel and overnight stays required Build Relationships. Grow a Territory. Make an Impact. Transit & Level Clinic is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Representative to expand our presence throughout Middle and West Tennessee. This is not a desk-based sales position. You will spend most of your time in the fieldmeeting customers, visiting job sites, developing new accounts, strengthening existing relationships, and identifying opportunities to help our customers work more efficiently. The right person for this role is confident walking into a new business, comfortable starting conversations, organized enough to manage a large territory, and motivated by measurable results.
What You'll Do
- Develop new business throughout Middle and West Tennessee through field prospecting, referrals, networking, cold outreach, and scheduled customer visits
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with contractors, surveyors, construction professionals, and other industry partners
- Conduct in-person customer meetings, job-site visits, product demonstrations, and needs assessments
- Identify customer challenges and recommend appropriate equipment, technology, service, repair, rental, and support solutions
- Grow existing accounts through consistent follow-up, relationship management, cross-selling, and upselling
- Create and maintain an active sales pipeline of qualified prospects and opportunities
- Prepare and present quotes, proposals, product information, and customized solutions
- Coordinate with internal sales, technical support, service, repair, inventory, and operations teams to provide an excellent customer experience
- Attend industry events, trade shows, association meetings, customer events, and networking opportunities
- Monitor competitor activity, territory trends, customer feedback, and emerging market opportunities
- Maintain accurate customer records, visit notes, opportunities, forecasts, and next steps within the company CRM
- Plan efficient travel routes and weekly schedules to maximize customer-facing time
- Participate in sales meetings, product training, ride-alongs, and ongoing professional development Territory and Travel
Requirements
This position covers a broad territory extending from Middle Tennessee through West Tennessee. Candidates must be comfortable with:
- Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory
- Regular driving between customer locations and job sites
- Overnight travel when territory coverage, meetings, training, trade shows, or customer needs require it
- Independently planning routes, appointments, and overnight schedules
- Adjusting travel plans based on customer opportunities and business needs Travel and overnight stays are essential functions of this position. Applicants should carefully consider these requirements before applying. A company vehicle and gas card are provided for authorized business travel. What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in business development, outside sales, territory sales, account management, or a similar customer-facing role
- Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Confidence prospecting for new business both in person and by phone
- A consultative sales approach focused on understanding the customer's needsnot simply making a quick sale
- Ability to work independently, manage a large geographic territory, and remain productive while traveling
- Strong organization, time management, route-planning, and follow-up skills
- Comfortable using CRM software, email, mobile technology, and digital sales tools
- Ability to learn technical products and communicate their value clearly
- Professional appearance and customer-first attitude
- Goal-oriented mindset with the ability to manage a pipeline and meet performance expectations
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Middle and West Tennessee, including regular overnight stays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction, surveying, engineering, heavy equipment, machine control, positioning technology, construction technology, or a related industry
- Existing relationships within Tennessee's construction or surveying markets
- Experience selling technical products, equipment, software, rentals, repairs, or service agreements
- Familiarity with Odoo, Map My Customers, or similar CRM and territory-management platforms Industry experience is valuable, but it is not the only thing we consider. A strong salesperson with the right attitude, work ethic, and ability to learn will also be considered. What We Provide
