Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Concrete & Masonry Estimator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs and preparing bids for concrete and masonry projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. Your expertise will help drive successful project planning, from initial review of technical drawings to final cost management, supporting the seamless execution of high-quality construction projects. Duties

• Review and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs for concrete and masonry work
• Develop detailed project estimates using estimating software, incorporating current market prices for materials, labor, and equipment
• Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms
• Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and adjusting estimates as needed to ensure profitability
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that clearly outline scope of work, pricing, and assumptions
• Collaborate with homeowners, project managers and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project scope, schedule, and quality standards
• Conduct site visits when necessary to gather additional information or verify existing conditions impacting cost estimates
• Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, contracts, and correspondence for future reference Experience
• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the concrete or masonry industry
• Strong understanding of construction drawing review, interpretation of technical drawings, and estimating material requirements from blueprints
• Hands-on construction site experience that enhances ability to assess field conditions accurately
• Proficiency with estimating software and other relevant tools
• Demonstrated expertise in cost management, cost control, pricing strategies, and estimating construction project budgets
• Excellent negotiation skills with homeowners, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve optimal pricing outcomes
• Knowledge of contracts, project management principles, and construction management practices is highly desirable
