Full description of the position

Events Sales Manager In Good Spirits Hospitality | Full-Time | On-Property + Field-Based About In Good Spirits Hospitality In Good Spirits Hospitality is one of Arizona's premier independent restaurant groups, known for chef-driven food, exceptional hospitality, and distinctive dining experiences. Our restaurants include Citizen Public House, The Gladly, Beginner's Luck, Minnow, and soon-to-be The Olive Farmer. Our restaurants hosts everything from intimate celebrations and rehearsal dinners to corporate events, holiday parties, and large-scale private gatherings. We're looking for an Events Sales Manager who is passionate about hospitality, loves building relationships, and thrives on creating new business opportunities. You'll represent multiple unique restaurant concepts, each with its own personality and event spaces, while helping clients create memorable experiences. This is a hospitality and relationship-driven sales position for someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people, is comfortable picking up the phone or walking into a new office, and wants to be the reason a planner, company, or Destination Management Company chooses us over every other option. You will not be building Banquet Event Orders or managing day-of logistics. Each restaurant has a management teams for that. Your job is to build relationships, generate new business, guide clients through the sales and confirmation process, and remain visiblein our restaurants, in the community, and throughout the hospitality industry.

What You'll Do
  • Build genuine, long-term relationships with Destination Management Companies (DMCs), meeting and wedding planners, hotel concierge teams, in-house guests, corporate offices, law firms, financial and wealth management firms, and other key referral partners.
  • Develop new referral partnerships with hotels, corporate offices, local businesses, community organizations, and other businesses that can generate private dining and catering opportunities.
  • Get out from behind the desk. Make cold calls, conduct in-person visits, attend Chamber of Commerce events, hospitality association meetings, networking groups, trade shows, and community events. Sometimes the best sales call is simply dropping off cookies with a handwritten note.
  • Conduct venue tours, prepare proposals, and guide clients through menu selection, event spaces, and booking options.
  • Own the sales process from the initial conversation through the signed contract before handing the event off seamlessly to the property's ops team.
  • Attend events to personally welcome hosts, strengthen relationships, and remain the client's primary relationship contact even after the sale has been completed.
  • Maintain accurate client records, sales activity, follow-up tasks, and pipeline reporting in the CRM so opportunities never fall through the cracks.
  • Dedicate scheduled time every week to proactive prospecting, networking, relationship-building, and business development regardless of event volume or seasonality. How We Define Success Success in this role isn't measured solely by booked revenueit's measured by the relationships you build and the opportunities you create. You'll be successful when:
  • Destination Management Companies, planners, concierges, and corporate clients think of us first.
  • You consistently generate new business in addition to inbound inquiries.
  • You build meaningful relationships that result in repeat business and referrals.
  • Your sales pipeline is organized, current, and growing quarter over quarter.
  • You consistently maintain proactive outreach through calls, visits, networking, and follow-up.
  • You help expand our corporate client base and referral network.
  • You create seamless handoffs that our operations teams trust.
  • You develop a reputationinside and outside the companyas someone who genuinely cares about clients and delivers exceptional hospitality. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who naturally connects with people and enjoys building relationships. You are:
  • Genuinely hospitable. You make people feel welcome and cared fornot because it's part of the sales process, but because it's who you are.
  • Comfortable introducing yourself to strangers, cold-calling, visiting offices, and starting conversations that turn into long-term relationships.
  • Self-motivated. You don't wait for someone to tell you who to call nextyou create your own opportunities.
  • Persistent. You understand that relationship-building takes consistency, resilience, and the willingness to work through rejection. A background in competitive sports or other high-persistence pursuits is a plus.
  • Curious. You ask thoughtful questions to understand a client's needs before offering solutions.
  • Organized enough to manage multiple opportunities, maintain a healthy pipeline, and follow through on commitments without constant oversight.
  • Trustworthy. You're the kind of person clients, coworkers, and referral partners genuinely enjoy working with and want to see again. Previous experience in catering sales, event sales, hospitality sales, hotel sales, restaurant sales, business development, or another relationship-driven sales role is preferred. Schedule This is a full-time position with an expected workweek of 4050 hours , depending on business needs, event volume, and seasonality. Because hospitality doesn't always happen Monday through Friday, evening and weekend availability is expected to accommodate client meetings, networking events, venue tours, and key events.
