We are a reputable tree company looking to expand into Plant Health Care. We are seeking a foundational PHC Specialist to run the depart. You will not just be a technician following a route; you will meet clients, diagnose properties, sell the treatment programs, and perform the workincluding targeted pruning and chemical applications. This is a high-autonomy role designed for an entrepreneurial arborist who wants to build, grow, and directly profit from a new business unit. As a core member of our team, you will also collaborate with and support our tree crew operations when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Estimating: Meet with residential and commercial clients to evaluate properties, identify tree/shrub issues, and sell custom PHC programs.
- Diagnostics & IPM: Identify regional insects, diseases, and soil deficiencies to build effective Integrated Pest Management (IPM) solutions.
- Treatment Application: Perform hands-on applications, including soil injections, trunk injections, canopy sprays, and fertilization.
- Fine Pruning: Execute specialized, health-focused pruning on ornamental trees and shrubs to improve structure and mitigate disease.
- Department Operations: Help track inventory, maintain equipment, and ensure strict compliance with Massachusetts pesticide logging regulations.
- Tree Crew Assistance: Assist the regular tree crew as required during large-scale projects, storm cleanup, or peak production periods (e.g., ground support, rigging, or equipment operation).

Requirements
- Licensing: Must hold a valid Massachusetts Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (Core) OR be highly motivated and willing to study and obtain it within 3060 days of hire (we will provide study materials and exam support). Valid driver's license with a clean record required.
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years in arboriculture or plant healthcare, with a strong background in plant identification and diagnostics.
- Versatile Skillset: Proficient in both chemical application techniques and proper fine-pruning standards (ANSI A300).
- Communication: Comfortable speaking with homeowners, explaining technical problems simply, and closing sales.
- Drive: Self-motivated to manage your own daily schedule of sales calls and field production.
- Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist credential is a major plus.
- Ability to pass a drug test Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
