Harney Hardware, a division of Hardware Resources, is a leading supplier of door hardware, bathroom accessories, decorative hardware, plumbing fixtures, and commercial hardware to distributors, retailers, contractors, and builders nationwide. As we continue to grow our in-market presence, we're looking for an Outside Sales Representative to own and expand our footprint in your territory. Headquartered in Tampa, FL, Harney Hardware has spent over 20 years building a reputation for quality products, dependable service, and lasting customer relationships giving you a well-established name to represent and a proven product line to sell.

Job Summary

This is a hunter-and-farmer role built for a sales professional who already has relationships in the building products, hardware, or home improvement channel. If you know the buyers, know the products, and know how to turn a relationship into recurring business, we want to put you on the ground running.

What You'll Do

• Own Your Territory: Drive sales growth for Harney Hardware's full product line door hardware, bathroom hardware, decorative hardware, and plumbing fixtures within your local market.
• Leverage Existing Relationships: Bring your established network of buyers, distributors, retailers, and contractors and grow it into long-term Harney Hardware business.
• Be In-Market: This is a field-based, in-market position. You'll spend the majority of your time face-to-face with customers visiting counters, job sites, and offices not behind a desk.
• Develop New Business: Identify and pursue new accounts among distributors, hardware retailers, home improvement centers, and contractors who aren't yet buying from Harney.
• Grow Existing Accounts: Increase share of wallet with current customers through cross-selling, new product introductions, and consistent follow-up.
• Represent the Brand: Serve as the face of Harney Hardware in your market delivering responsive service, product expertise, and reliable follow-through.
• Report Market Intelligence: Keep a pulse on local market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs, and feed that insight back to the team. What We're Looking For
• Industry Experience: Proven outside sales experience in door hardware, building products, plumbing, or a closely related trade required.
• Existing Customer Relationships: A track record of relationships with distributors, retailers, or contractors in the market that can be activated quickly required.
• Self-Starter: You manage your own schedule, territory, and pipeline with minimal oversight.
• Relationship Builder: You're personable, responsive, and known for following through on what you say you'll do.
• Competitive Drive: You're energized by winning new accounts as much as growing the ones you already have.

Qualifications

• (Required) Established relationships and prior sales experience within the door hardware, building products, or home improvement industry
• (Required) Willingness and ability to work an in-market, field-based territory with regular local travel
• (Required) Strong communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills
• (Required) Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, etc.)
• (Preferred) Experience with CRM software (Salesforce or similar)
• (Preferred) College degree or equivalent industry experience
• (Preferred) Social media fluency (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
• (Required) Ability to travel within the local territory 90% of the time What We Offer
