Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Senior Business Development Manager to oversee our B2B housing partnerships and drive business development efforts in the corporate, student and intern housing sectors. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with university and corporate partners while identifying and securing new business opportunities throughout California and in select strategic out-of-state markets. The successful candidate must be based in Southern California, ideally the Los Angeles area, and possess at least five years of experience in student housing, corporate housing, hospitality, co-living. This role requires a proactive communicator and relationship-builder who understands the nuances of the furnished corporate, intern and student housing market and thrives in a fast-paced, partner-focused environment. Key ResponsibilitiesNew Business Development (70%) Identify, engage, and secure new B2B opportunities with HR departments, universities, internship providers, relocation agencies, and corporate clients. Build a strong pipeline of potential clients across California and key out- of-state markets. Represent Kapi at housing fairs, networking events, and relevant conferences to promote services, initiate partnerships and generate leads. Share client insights and market trends with internal teams to inform service enhancements and business strategy. Contribute to strategic planning efforts and provide feedback for continuous improvement. Develop and present customized housing proposals and pricing packages in collaboration with the finance team. Negotiate terms and execute partnership agreements in coordination with the leadership team. Work closely with the leasing and operations teams to ensure partner expectations are met or exceeded. Business Development Management (10%) Lead and manage the Business Development function, taking full responsibility for building, scaling, and optimizing KAPI's B2B partnerships and revenue pipeline. Own the B2B portfolio end to end, including new business generation, partnership development, account expansion, and overall revenue performance. Establish and implement scalable systems and processes, including CRM structure, pipeline management, performance tracking, and reporting to ensure a disciplined and repeatable growth engine. Drive accountability across the business development function, setting clear targets, monitoring performance, and ensuring delivery against revenue goals while continuously improving efficiency and effectiveness. Current Client Retention and Expansion (20%) Serve as the primary liaison for existing university, internship, and corporate housing partners. Ensure high levels of partner satisfaction and retention through effective communication, timely follow-ups, and issue resolution. Lead development of business development and client management systems in collaboration with the senior leadership and manage its execution and effective implementation Track performance metrics and prepare account status reports and renewal strategies. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in student housing, corporate housing, co-living, intern housing, or furnished leasing
  • CCHP Certificate
  • Strong .
  • Proven ability to build long-term client relationships and grow accounts.
  • Based in Southern California (Los Angeles preferred) with ability to travel as needed.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, growth-mindset character, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with intern housing cycles, corporate housing and travel, relocation logistics, or university housing coordination.
  • Existing network in the university, corporate housing or internship housing space. What We Offer
