Regional Fleet Sales Job
Overview
: Commercial Van Interiors is seeking a results-driven Fleet Sales professional with strong experience in the commercial vehicle upfitting industry. This role is responsible for developing new fleet business, expanding relationships with fleet accounts, dealers, fleet management companies, municipalities, and delivering customized vehicle upfit solutions that meet each customer's operational requirements. The ideal candidate understands work vans and commercial vehicle applications including shelving, ladder racks, partitions, flooring, electrical accessories, vehicle graphics, safety equipment, and turnkey upfit programs. This individual should be highly consultative, technically curious, and capable of managing opportunities from initial prospecting through quote development, production coordination, delivery, and post-sale support.

Responsibilities
:
- Drive revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new fleet sales opportunities within the commercial vehicle, work truck, service van, delivery, contractor, utility, government, and fleet markets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with fleet managers, commercial dealerships, OEM representatives, leasing companies, procurement teams, and key business decision-makers.
- Conduct customer needs assessments to understand vehicle usage, trade requirements, payload considerations, safety needs, storage requirements, branding standards, and operational objectives.
- Recommend appropriate upfit solutions, including van shelving, partitions, ladder racks, roof equipment, flooring, wall liners, drawer systems, lighting, power accessories, graphics, and custom configurations.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, cold calling, site visits, discovery meetings, vehicle walk-arounds, quote preparation, proposal presentation, negotiation, closing, and account follow-up.
- Prepare accurate quotes and proposals based on customer specifications, vehicle type, equipment requirements, labor estimates, lead times, and margin expectations.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Scheduling, Logistics, and Customer Service teams to ensure successful project execution from order entry through final delivery.
- Support dealer and fleet partner programs by providing product expertise, upfit recommendations, pricing support, build status communication, and customer-facing sales assistance.
- Maintain accurate records, sales pipeline updates, forecasted opportunities, customer notes, account activity, and follow-up actions.
- Monitor market trends, competitive offerings, customer buying patterns, OEM vehicle availability, and industry developments impacting fleet and upfit demand.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with key fleet accounts to evaluate performance, identify upcoming vehicle needs, resolve service concerns, and expand long-term business opportunities.
- Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, dealer visits, industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
Qualifications
:
- High School diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of successful B2B sales experience required, preferably in commercial vehicle sales, fleet sales, work truck equipment, vehicle upfitting, automotive accessories, leasing, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business, grow strategic accounts, manage high-value opportunities, and build long-term customer relationships.
- Working knowledge of commercial vans, trucks, fleet applications, vocational vehicle requirements, upfit equipment, and customer specification processes strongly preferred.
- Experience selling to fleet managers, commercial dealerships, contractors, service companies, delivery operations is highly preferred.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, presentation, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to read and interpret customer requirements, vehicle specifications, product information, pricing sheets, and project scope details.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, email communication, pipeline management, and sales reporting tools.
- Self-motivated, organized, accountable, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities, deadlines, and customer priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory for customer visits, dealer meetings, site surveys, and industry events. Success Factors:
- Consistently builds a qualified sales pipeline and converts opportunities into profitable fleet upfit projects.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to customers by translating fleet needs into practical, reliable, and cost-effective upfit solutions.
- Communicates clearly with internal teams to ensure customer expectations, timelines, specifications, and delivery requirements are understood and executed.
- Maintains strong follow-through, urgency, and accountability from first contact through final delivery and repeat business.
