Full description of the position

Our client based in China is seeking an entrepreneurial Sales Manager (West Coast) to drive regional customer acquisition, build a local sales organization, and establish a scalable US-facing service framework. Ideally the person will life in the Bay Area and would be able to work out of a home based office. This would be a Mon-Fri traditional office hours position and would involve travel upwards of 20% of the time to client sites, industry conventions throughout the US and an occasional trip overseas to China to the company's corporate office. This role is ideal for a commercially strong leader who can win new business, manage strategic accounts, and translate complex global engineering and manufacturing capabilities into clear customer value.

Key Responsibilities

:

• Growth & Acquisition: Drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth across the US West Coast, targeting innovative companies in IoT, electronics, hardware, and deep-tech sectors.
• Team & Process Building: Build, scale, and lead the local sales presence, establishing commercial discipline and regional capabilities.
• Account Management: Manage strategic accounts using structured goal alignment, milestone planning, and cross-functional execution.
• Value Translation: Shape a scalable US-facing service framework that aligns customer needs with global engineering, New Product Introduction, supply chain, and manufacturing strengths.
• Ecosystem Engagement: Represent the organization in the regional innovation ecosystem through industry events, partnerships, and active engagement with startups and founders.

Requirements

:

• B2B Sales: Proven experience in complex B2B sales or strategic account management within the US market.
• Sector Expertise: Strong background in electronics, hardware, IoT, or manufacturing-related sectors.
• Leadership: Demonstrated experience building or leading sales teams and commercial processes.
• Technical Fluency: Deep understanding of customer needs across hardware development, global supply chain, and production. Strong Plus:
• Startup Ecosystem: Experience working with startups, founders, or venture-backed companies, with an understanding of growth-stage business dynamics.
• Local Network: An existing network within the West Coast hardware or deep-tech ecosystem.
• Cross-Border Operations: Experience collaborating with Asia-based engineering, operations, or supply chain teams.
